At Crown Screw we understand the critical role that our fasteners play in the production of your products, with tooling also being key to production. We can offer a wide range of self clinch tooling to support your manufacturing process, from bench press, C-frame to In-Die solutions. We can offer both fastener and installation tools all under one roof, safe in the knowledge that fastener and tool will work in harmony. From high end automotive customers, injection moulding, fabricators to low volume prototyping, we will have the precise solution for your requirements. This information page is designed to give you a brief insight into the world of self clinch tooling, to enable you to select the right equipment for your project. All our tools are supported with a 12 month warranty from date of invoice, however wearable parts and servicing are not included in the package. In house servicing, spares and repairs is available to keep your equipment in prime condition.

Self Clinch Tooling

Self Clinch Bench Press

Our manual self clinch bench presses are compact hand operated clinch tools that tend towards low to medium volume production, offering a low cost solution. The press can either be supplied on its own, or with a range of punches and dies from M2 to M8. With an impressive pressing force of 1600kg, the throat depth on this tool is set to 85mm. The press can easily be installed to a work bench to secure the press in place for ease of use. Our team of engineers will be happy to assist in selecting the right tool for you.

C Frame Self Clinch Press

With a wide range of C frame self clinching machines available, we can offer a machine that will speed up production cycle times and also gives you a wider scope in throat depth and press force. Self clinch presses can either be supplied on their own, or with a range of punches and dies from M2 to M12. With options available to auto feed fasteners by adding a bowl feed systems, the process can be developed to achieve faster installation times. Cameras and sensors can also be added to offer poke-yoke (error proofing) features, to ensure every installation is correct. Cradles to support your work piece can be manufactured to assist with positioning of the workpiece if required.

In Die Self Clinch System

This system is perfect if you are looking to run HIGH volumes of self clinch fasteners in die. With fasteners being hopper bowl fed into insertion heads installed within the press tool, the requirement for a second operation can be eliminated. Our In Die automated assembly stations are designed specifically for a particular fastener and press tool, although the core feeder system is generic and transferable between presses. This is the most cost-effective solution if you are looking at high volume production. It is necessary for Crown Screw to be involved at the design stage, in order for us to propose the most appropriate solution, and contribute to the tooling design.
